    Good length and good color as shown in the ad. The shoelaces on my beautiful Doc Martens were too short and too thick and it was hard to tie them. I got these longer ones in a beautiful dark green which perfectly match the green in my boots.

    These are great laces and would be a solid 5 stars, but quality control is very bad. The first pair I bought was too short–probably my mistake, though I used the measuring guide. The second pair was long enough, but one of the plastic ends was missing–making it difficult to lace and easy to fray. The third pair was supposed to be the same size as the second pair, but was an inch shorter. Thankfully, they were still long enough to work with the shoes. This third pair looks great and is functioning very well, but it sure was a frustrating journey to get here.

    I feel stupid giving an enthusiastic review of shoelaces, but these really are great. The length is good and the texture of the material is sufficiently grippy, so your laces stay tied. I’m not sure what the reasoning behind the shoelaces provided with some shoes is, that they seem to be coated with teflon, so that after you tie your shoes and stand up, the laces have untied themselves and seem to migrate under the opposite shoe so you can trip and fall on your face with your first step. I guess it’s to add to the embarrassment of making you look like you never learned how to tie your shoes properly. Though it might be a conspiracy by big Velcro to get you to buy Velcro strap shoes instead of laced shoes. If that is the case I refuse to submit and would buy nothing but loafers, should they take over the closure industry.
