Alright, let’s talk about this Cooks Standard 12-inch frying pan. It’s seriously impressive.
First off, the multi-ply thing? Basically, it means the heat spreads like magic. No more hot spots, everything cooks evenly. It heats up fast, too, which is awesome when you’re in a hurry.
The “hybrid” nonstick is kinda genius. It’s not like your typical coated pan, but it still stops stuff from sticking. You can actually get a good sear on meat, which is a big deal. Plus, you don’t have to baby it as much as those delicate nonstick pans.
The stainless steel is solid. It feels like it’ll last forever, and it cleans up pretty easily. No weird flavors leeching into your food, either.
The glass lid? Super handy. You can see what’s going on without lifting it, so you don’t lose all the heat. And it fits nice and snug.
Oven-safe? Yes, please! You can start on the stove and finish in the oven, no problem. Works on any stovetop, too, even those fancy induction ones.
The handle is comfy, and it feels secure. No wobbling or anything.
Basically, this pan is a workhorse. It cooks great, it’s easy to clean, and it’ll probably outlast you. If you want a solid frying pan that can handle anything, this is it.

Had to learn new way to make omelets. Other than that a great product!

Heats evenly, nothing sticks, and cleanup is a breeze. The glass lid is a great bonus and it works flawlessly on all my stovetops.

We are continuing to look to upgrade our old teflon cookware to something safer. We came across this brand from a friend and decided to give it a try as a SLIGHTLY cheaper alternative to Hexclad.
Overall, we are very happy with it. The pan has a very nice heft to it and the handle is solid and stays reasonably comfortable to hold, although you need to be thoughtful if you have been heating something at very high heat for a long time, of course.
As far as non-stick goes, it’s excellent. It really does shed just about whatever we threw at it during cooking this morning and afternoon — including French toast, grilled cheese and some sausages. Looks as good as new and cleans up super easily.
The lid is also high quality. It’s glass and seals well with the pan itself.
It all feels very well made and like it should last a very long time. To that end, I will be interested to see how the non-stick pattern holds up, but we try to be careful in using too abrasive tools with our better cookware.
Anyway, this is not a cheap choice. But it is a very good one. We are really quite pleased.

This is not your average box store frying pan. The first thing I noticed is how heavy it is. The weight plays in to the heat retention of the pan. It heats slowly like a cast iron skillet, but also retains the heat well and cooks evenly, with no warpage. If you want to test a non-stick pan, fry some eggs in it without oil. This pan excelled at the egg test where cheaper non-stick pans I own have struggled. So far the non-stick has performed well and I have no reason to believe it will not last, as long as you are handwashing and not over heating the pan. The pan says it is dishwasher safe, but in my experience non-stick pans do not last when exposed to harsh dishwasher detergents. I was also able to obtain a good sear cooking in this non-stick pan, and being able to finish a dish in the oven is an excellent benefit. The only caveat being you can not use it with a broiler (most likely due to the non-stick). The glass lid fits well and like most glass tempered lids has a vent hole. The metal handle stays cool enough to manage during cooking and is comfortable to grip. I don’t know if this is indeed the Cooks Standard, but it is a pretty good value when compared to the more expensive and well known options, many of which don’t include a lid.

Can you say QUALITY?!!!!
I am super picky about the build quality of my pans and this Cooks skillet is well made and aesthetically pleasing!
It heats fairly quickly and cooks evenly. The non stick feature is delightful and I hope it remains that way for years to come but I will certainly update this review as I continue to use it. It has been super easy to clean and I have run it through the dishwasher with no issues.
This skillet is weighty so keep that in mind when you consider your purchase.
Would I Buy This? Yes!

This is a great pan. It works perfectly on our induction cook top. It heats very evenly. The sides of the pan minimize spatter and the lid fits nicely. The pan is the perfect size for everything from eggs, to burgers, to stir fry. The shiny finish is very attractive. The non-stick coating works like a champ. It’s very easy to clean and the finish has held up very well so far although we only use plastic utensils to be safe.
