    It doesn’t work at all

I am extremely impressed with the Safer Home Indoor Plug-In Fly Trap (SH502)! This device has been a game-changer in keeping my home free of fruit flies and gnats. It’s incredibly easy to use—just plug it in, and it starts working right away. Within a few days, I noticed a significant reduction in flying pests around my kitchen and living areas.

The coverage is fantastic, effectively protecting up to 400 sq ft, making it ideal for larger rooms. I also appreciate that it’s non-toxic and safe for pets and children, unlike traditional chemical sprays. The UV light attracts pests efficiently, and the sticky trap ensures they don’t escape. Plus, it’s discreet and doesn’t take up much space.

If you’re struggling with fruit flies, gnats, or other small flying insects, I highly recommend this fly trap. It’s a safe, effective, and hassle-free solution for indoor pest control!

Llegaron en mal estado las trampas de pegamento; estaban pegadas una con otra

Works at trapping the small flies from the indoor plants. Looks pretty good and has a blue glow when plugged in to attract the bugs. I like the look better than the yellow sticky strips that I previously have used .

**Use this Plug-In Fly Trap in conjunction with BIO-CLEAN (see my photos, sold by another seller) and you will have 90% to 100% success in eliminating drain flies… and your sanity will return!
I purchased the Plug-In Fly Trap for a small bathroom where I have been battling drain flies for 5+ years! I am using it in conjunction with the BIO-CLEAN product.**
    READ BELOW….

When I tell you I have used 5+ OTC products PLUS several do it yourself remedies and concoctions for drain flies, none of which worked well, not exaggerating. I even clean out the tub trap and use a small snake-like tool to remove anything in the drain thinking that could be a breeder issue.

Initially I treated all drains for the flies, even the washer drain, until I figured out the exact problem area. No water source area was not treated. I even bought a tiny little scrub brush on a snake that goes down into the drain lines. Still had drain flies. Finally…. using duct tape, taped down over the drains, that is how I finally figured out where the problem area was, where they were flying out of getting stuck on the tape.
Now that I knew where…..over the past 5+ years I have poured huge pots of boiling water down the tub/shower drain, repeating daily for a few days. Helped, but still seeing them daily; I have used vinegar mixed with baking soda, repeating daily for days. Helped, but still seeing them daily; I have poured a cup of bleach (the thick no-splash gel kind) at a time down the drains, waiting a few hours then rinsing with hot water. Did this for several days in a row. Helped, but still seeing them daily; I have used powerful drain cleaners/chemicals for clogged drains, even though my drain works at 100%. Helped, but still seeing them daily; I have spent A LOT OF MONEY purchasing various liquid pre-mixed drain cleaners ADVERTISED FOR DRAIN FLIES here on Amazon. Sometimes treating 2 weeks at a time, daily, sometimes twice daily. Helped, but still seeing multiples daily.
FINALLY I HEARD ABOUT THIS PRODUCT – BIO CLEAN.
RUN and get yourself some, quickly, if you have drain flies! THIS is the only drain fly product that really works, however not 100%. Use it overnight for about 2 weeks straight. Do not use water for about 8 hrs in that drain. After you get rid of them, or most, use 1x a week as maintenance.
Most days I see a fly when I turn the water on, flying out of the drain, or on the shower wall or even in the toilet. Sometimes in other areas of the condo, like at my computer screen. Not 1-2 dozen a day anymore, just 1 or 2 a day most days, and not the larger ones, usually the smaller gnat-like flies. I am convinced I will never be totally rid of them, even with all I am doing, and using BIO-CLEAN weekly. There is something way down in that drain pipe that is the culprit.
NOW…. since I plugged this light in the bathroom a week ago, it is catching most of those stragglers (see photo).

If you have drain flies you must clean out the enzymes in all your drains with a enzyme cleaning product, do it time to time (weekly if needed, or monthly as a preventative) as routine maintenance, especially the problem drains. Enzymes is what drain flies feed on.

*I gave the Plug-In Fly Trap 2 stars for “value for money”…. $17.97 is very costly for this product and refills are a bit expensive.
Now that I know there are plug-in products with a UV LED light fro this problem, I will shop around.

Requires replacement glue cards: Glue cards need to be replaced periodically for continued effectiveness.
May not be as effective as professional pest control methods for severe infestations.

The Safer Home SH502 Indoor Plug-In Fly Trap is a convenient and effective way to control common household pests.

The Safer Home Indoor Fly Trap is a little fighter against those pesky gnats that seem to magically appear in your houseplants or fruit bowl. Here’s a closer look at this gnat-catching gadget to help you decide if it’s the right weapon for your war on tiny flies.

    Gnat Terminator (Eventually):

Good news: This trap is effective for catching gnats, especially after a few days of operation. Those little gnat suckers will be history…well, stuck to a history-making sticky card, at least.
Not-so-great news: It doesn’t address the root cause of the gnat infestation. While it will trap existing gnats, it won’t stop more from hatching or flying in from elsewhere. So, you might need to combine this trap with other methods to truly vanquish the gnat menace.
    Chemical-Free Fly Fighter:

A big plus: This trap is completely chemical-free. This makes it a safe choice for homes with curious children or rambunctious pets. You can breathe easy knowing there are no harmful fumes or sprays involved.

    A Sticky Situation:

Think flypaper: The trap uses a sticky card to capture gnats. This is similar to classic fly strips, and while effective, it might not be the most aesthetically pleasing solution for your home decor.
Slow and Steady Wins the Race (Against Gnats):

Be patient: The trap might not catch a ton of gnats right away. Give it a few days to work its magic and for the gnats to discover their sticky doom.

    The Verdict:

The Safer Home SH502 Indoor Fly Trap is a decent option for a chemical-free way to catch gnats. It’s easy to use and works moderately well. However, it’s not a silver bullet solution and won’t eliminate the source of the gnats. Consider using it alongside other methods to completely eradicate those gnat invaders.
