   Technically, I would actually like to give this 4 1/2 stars but since that’s not an option, I’m giving this a solid 4 stars.
   Everything about it is perfect except for the color.
   First with the negative: I ordered the khaki expecting it to be khaki colored as shown in the listing photo. Instead, it’s actually a mustard-y gold/yellow color. Not completely unappealing, but definitely not close to khaki. Is it worth returning and taking a chance on ordering another color? Nah, but I am disappointed that it’s not the neutral khaki color as I expected.
   The positives:
   – the adjustable bungee allows this to fit me and my husband comfortably
   – as some have mentioned, this comes folded in half in a very flat package. There is a strong and definite crease in it that comes out and relaxes if you massage and flatten it out.
   – husband takes this to the beach with him when he walks the shore then goes for a swim. When he swims, he rolls this in his towel and sticks it up in the fork of a tree. It rolls up in the towel easily and when he takes it out, it pops back into shape. Unless you purposely crease it, it doesn’t bend or crease at all.
   – we haven’t actually thrown it in the wash yet, but it did blow into the ocean once. My husband retrieved it, popped it on his head, then showered in the outside shower while still wearing it. He kept it on, it dried while he was wearing it and the shape was not affected at all.
   – on the topic of drying well, the fabric is lightweight and dries extremely quickly. The brim is thicker, so that part takes a bit longer, but the crown is just a single layer of fabric that dries in an instant.
   – the chin strap is super handy, not only for keeping it from blowing off, but it also makes it easy to hang on a hook right at the back door.
   Overall, very pleased. We may just take a chance and order the lighter beige color to see if that’s closer to khaki. At this price, it’s definitely worth a shot.

   I didn’t want to ruin my favorite everyday hat by packing it in my suitcase, so I bought this hat as my sacrificial travel hat to use while hiking in Banff Canada.

   It’s surprisingly decent for the price:

   – The brim is generously wider than I expected, so it should do a great job shading me from the sun, especially my ears as others have noted.

   – The silver color I ordered is visually appealing.

   – it’s very lightweight.

   Things to note:

   – As others have noted, it comes folded in half inside a shockingly pencil-thin box. This causes permanent creases on opposite sides of the brim which has kind of a thin foam material feel.

   – The brim has two seams joining two halves to form the hat. They should fold the hat in half along those two seams instead of folding it randomly, to prevent forming unsightly permanent creases in the smooth parts of the brim.

   – The creases are not only unsightly, but it also ruins the structural integrity of the brim in those spots, so the brim is kind of floppy where the creases are instead of staying rigid and keeping its shape, which is too bad because they could have avoided this by simply folding along the seams instead.

   – I tried putting the hat in the dryer for a short time along with a wet bath towel to try to “steam” out the creases…it helped to decrease the appearance of one of the creases, but not the other crease which looks pretty bad and causes that part of the brim to droop.

   – I am a size 24″ noggin, which this adjustable size hat is supposed to accommodate, but i found it to be almost uncomfortably tight. For the price, I’m just going to hope that it stretches out a bit to become more comfortable over time.

   All things considered though, for the price of under ten bucks, one can’t complain too much and it’s pretty decent overall. I’d probably buy it again unless something better comes on the market at that same price point.

   My husband wore throughout a month long trip to Vietnam and it held up great. Always looked good and he said very comfortable. Was easy to pack and very lightweight yet provided sufficient sun protection. Color was pretty neutral that he ordered. Chin strap kept it in place on several windy days so that was a bonus.

   It’s very large, and you may look a like a goober while you wear it – but it’s light weight, foldable, and it’ll keep the sun off your face and neck.

   Works for big heads! This also folds well to pack for vacations. Light material breathes well on long hikes. Not for small or pointy heads!

   I’m very happy with this purchase. This hat with SPF literally saved my life during four days of Carnival. It’s comfortable, lightweight, and protected my face from the sun the entire time, without worrying about sunburn even after long hours under the sun. The only thing that could be improved is the packaging, as the way it’s shipped causes the brim to arrive with a crease that’s a bit hard to remove. Still, it’s an excellent product and I definitely recommend it for outdoor activities.

   This hat is the best I have found for hiking and I hate hats. It is lightweight has great adjustability, does not fly off in moderate winds. Most importantly it keeps my face from getting burned. You can’t tell in this picture, but it does cover my nose 100% and I can still breathe very well. Love it!

   The hat is folded during shipping causing a permenent fold in the semi stiff brim. I find that entirely annoying. Otherwise the hat is ok.
   I would not buy again and I would not reccomend it.
